Obituaries George J. Cosentino

Mr. Cosentino, 85, of Red Bank died Jan. 27 at Gateway Care Center, Eatontown. Born in Long Branch, he resided in Fair Haven for 30 years before moving to Red Bank 15 years ago. He was employed at the advertising firm of E.T. Howard, New York City, retiring after several years. He served with the U.S. Navy/Coast Guard during World War II. He was a communicant at Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven, and was active with the Fair Haven Recreation Committee and Pop Warner football. Mr. Cosentino was predeceased by his wife, Norma Olson Cosentino, in 1992; two brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, George "Jay" and Mary Cosentino Jr. of Rumson, and Marc P. and Leisa Cosentino of Needham, Mass.; a brother, Robert Cosentino of West Long Branch; and three grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Church of the Nativity. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Elizabeth Rowan Neale

Mrs. Neale, 79, of Monmouth Beach died Dec. 20 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in New York City, she resided there before moving to Monmouth Beach several years ago. She was employed by New Jersey Bell Telephone Co. before her retirement. Mrs. Neale was a communicant of the Church of the Precious Blood, Monmouth Beach. She enjoyed being with her family and time at the beach. She was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, F. Brent Neale, a former mayor of Monmouth Beach; and a brother, Edward W. Rowan. Mrs. Neal is survived by a sister, Mary A. Meehan of Rumson; one cousin; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at the Church of the Precious Blood, followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. The John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, was in charge of arrangements.

Frank A. Capozzi

Mr. Capozzi, 75, of Oceanport died Feb. 1 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Newark, he resided in Kearny prior to moving to Oceanport 40 years ago. He was president and co- owner of North Jersey Paper Products, Irvington, for 45 years, retiring three years ago. He served with the U.S. Army during peacetime. He was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, West End section of Long Branch. Mr. Capozzi is survived by his wife, Penelope Peters Capozzi; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Steven Capozzi of Hammonton, and Robert and Barbara Capozzi of Egg Harbor Township; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and William Salvanto of West Long Branch; a sister, Joan Maffia of Oceanport; and four grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Michael’s Church. Interment was at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. Arrangements were by Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch.

Barbara J. Buono

Miss Buono, 49, of Tinton Falls died Feb. 3 at St. Barnabas Hospice Center and Palliative Care Center at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, following a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Long Branch, she was a lifelong shore resident. She was a learning generalist assistant vice president at Wachovia Bank, North Brunswick, for the past 22 years. Prior to that, she was a teacher in East Orange for several years. She was a communicant of St. Dorothea’s Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael J. and Jennie M. Tarricone Buono; and a brother, Michael C. Buono. She is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Pompey Torchia of Eatontown; a sister-in-law, Ida Buono of Long Branch; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Dorothea’s Church. Interment was at Mount Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch. Arrangements were by Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch. Edward W. Hyers

Mr. Hyers, 77, of Neptune died Feb. 17 at Imperial Care Center, Neptune. Born in Long Branch, he had lived in Asbury Park before moving to Neptune and worked in maintenance for Maidenform, Farmingdale. Surviving are three sisters and a brother, Helen Hyers and Doris M. Archer, both of Farmingdale, Edna Ackerman of Eatontown and Clarence F. Hyers of Howell. C.H.T. Mrs. Gaudious, 86, of Long Branch died Feb. 18 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Holmdel, she was a lifelong resident of the Shore area. She was a seamstress, retiring 25 years ago. Mrs. Gaudious was predeceased by her husband, Louis Gaudious, in 1971. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and William Christy of Oceanport, and one granddaughter. Interment was at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. Arrangements were by Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch.

Eleanor Conway

Mrs. Conway, 87, of Freehold died Feb. 19 at Gateway Care Center, Eatontown. She was born in Amsterdam, N.Y., and had lived in Freehold for most of her life. Mrs. Conway was a secretary for the Freehold YMCA for 20 years before her retirement. She was predeceased by her husband, William F. Conway, in 2002. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, William Jr. and Gail Conway of Eatontown, and Jack and Paula Conway of Auburn, Pa.; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Interment was at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. The Freeman Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements.

Margaret "Peggy" Helen O’Donnell

Mrs. O’Donnell of Shadow Lake Village, Red Bank, died Feb. 21 at Rahway Hospital. Born in Bayonne, she resided in Matawan for many years before moving to Shadow Lake Village 20 years ago. She was a telephone operator at Verizon, formerly AT&T and NJ Bell, for 32 years, retiring in 1979. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, and a former communicant of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Monmouth County Symphony Auxiliary, and Shadow Lake Socializers and Democratic Club. Mrs. O’Donnell is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Myra and Edward Francy of Middletown; one nephew and one niece; and one grandniece. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. James Church, followed by interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.

Elizabeth "Lilly" Breen

Mrs. Breen, 95, of Red Bank died Feb. 4 in Red Bank. Born in County Downe, Ireland, she resided in Staten Island, N.Y., prior to moving to Red Bank 20 years ago. Mrs. Breen was a homemaker. Prior to that, she was employed at the U.S. Trust Co., New York City. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was a member of the Navesink House Garden Club. Mrs. Breen was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, John J. Breen. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John J. and Vivian Breen of Middletown; a daughter and son-in-law, Claudette and John Frangos of Calgary, Canada; and two grandsons. Lucy D’Elia Quirk

Mrs. Quirk, 86, of Middletown died Feb. 8 at home. Born in Jersey City, she was a 44-year resident of Middletown. Mrs. Quirk was a homemaker. Prior to that, she was a seamstress for several years. She was active in the Middletown Seniors Club, and enjoyed baking. She was predeceased by her husband, Bertrand Quirk, in 1999. She is survived by four sons, Kevin J. Quirk of Middletown, Timothy J. Quirk of Mount Bethel, Pa., Bertrand V. Quirk of Longmont, Colo., and Daniel J. Quirk of Red Bank; a sister, Jean Faugno of West Milford; and three grandchildren. The John E. Walter J. Migut

Mr. Migut, 80, of South River died Jan. 7 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as chief film cutter at E.I. DuPont Photo Products, Parlin section of Sayreville, where he worked for 43 years. His wife, Sophie Ceslowski Migut, died in 1991. Surviving are a son, Paul of South River; two brothers, Chester Migut of South River and Frank Migut of Bradley Beach; two sisters, Rose Banach of South River and Jean Montigros of Red Bank; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment was in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Jamesburg.
