Spend Sunday afternoon in the park with a group of friends and join the county’s Parks and Recreation Department’s Sunday Slo-Pitch Softball League. Registrations for teams with a maximum of 20 players are now being accepted. Deadline is March 19. Opening day is scheduled for April 4 and play continues through July or mid-August, depending on rain-out games and play-off schedules. The first game each Sunday begins at noon, the second follows. Games are played at Thomas Edison Park, behind Middlesex County College in Edison. Up to five team members may be non-county residents. The Executive Board of the Tamarack Women’s Nine-Hole Golf Association invites female golfers from Middlesex County to join members in playing a friendly, competitive round of golf on Thursday mornings, April 1 through Nov. 1. Golfers should have a knowledge of the rules of the game and be capable of playing the round in a timely fashion. Flights will be established depending on level of competency. Prizes are awarded for the weekly competitions and trophies are awarded at the closing luncheon in November to winners of tournaments.
