Support groups, programs at SCAN during April

Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, will offer several free programs and support groups at the SCAN Learning Center during April, beginning with a Parkinson’s disease support group meeting April 6 from 10-11 a.m. The group will also have an optional "Ease into Exercise" session ($3 fee per person) from 11 a.m.-noon.

"Volunteerism" will be presented by Monmouth Volunteer Services coordinator Louise Shivers April 7 from 1-3 p.m.

Blood pressure screenings will be conducted April 14 from 12:30-1:30 p.m.

"The Importance of Early Detection and Screening for Colon Cancer" will be presented by Nadeem A. Baig, M.D., April 21 from 1-3 p.m. "Joy, Laughter and Humor" will be presented by a program instructor April 28 from 1-3 p.m.

The above are open to SCAN members; membership in SCAN is free to individuals age 50 and older. The SCAN Learning Center is at Monmouth Mall, Eatontown. To register or for more information, call SCAN at (732) 542-1326.
