Woman robbed
on street in Iselin
WOODBRIDGE — Police are investigating an incident in which a woman was assaulted and robbed in Iselin on March 16.
The victim was walking on Correja Avenue when she was approached from behind by a suspect described as a white male of unknown age, thin build, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall with light hair and wearing a gray, hooded sweat suit, according to police.
The suspect said, "Excuse me, ma’am," grabbed her purse, pushed her over and fled on foot down Harding Avenue towards Middlesex Avenue.
The incident was witnessed by a passing motorist who called police from a cell phone.
The woman was not injured, according to police.
