WHW will hold

Community Bulletin Board WHW will hold ‘Strong Girls’ workshop April 15

Women Helping Women (WHW) will continue its "Strong Girls" program at the First Presbyterian Church education building, 270 Woodbridge Ave., Metuchen, on April 15 from 5-7 p.m.

The program "The Keys to Unlocking Friendships" is for 7- to 12-year-old girls.

The fee for each two-hour workshop is $25, $20 for WHW members.

Metuchen Library will present concert in April

The Bloomfield Mandolin Orchestra will present a concert of music at the Metuchen Public Library, community room on April 18 at 2:30 p.m.

The program will include classical, Broadway and contemporary music

The Bloomfield Mandolin Orchestra was created 52 years ago and has become a special institution in Bloomfield. For the last 30 years, it has been under the direction of Gabriel Nevola.

Admission is free and the concert is sponsored by the Metuchen Public Library Board of Trustees Endowment Fund

Neve Shalom will hold two spring events

Congregation Neve Shalom, 250 Grove Ave., Metuchen, will mark the end of Passover with a pasta night on April 18 from 5:30-7 p.m.

The menu will include various pastas, garlic bread, salad, soft drinks and dessert.

The cost for this meal is $10 for adults; $5 for children 5-10 years old; and free for children under age 4. An R.S.V.P. is requested.

Neve Shalom’s Men’s Club will host a picnic at Merrill Park, Colonia on May 23 beginning at 11 a.m.

The Men’s Club will reserve a grove any time between 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

St. Joseph High to present ‘Oklahoma’

St. Joseph High School Theatre Company, Metuchen, will present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical, "Oklahoma," on April 15, 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m., and April 18 at 3 p.m.

Advanced tickets are $8 for se­nior/students and $10 for adults. All tickets at the door are $10.
