Monica Spiro-Farrell, East Brunswick, an assistant dean at the College of Professional Studies at St. John’s University, Staten Island, N.Y., presented "Memory Techniques and Study Skills" to students in the Pupil Assisted Learning Services (PALS) at Lakewood High School (LHS). The presentation was part of a joint educational venture among members of the educational committee of the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce; Single Throw, an Internet marketing company in Brick; and students at LHS.

Spiro-Farrell earned an MBA in marketing management and a professional diploma certificate in public accounting from St. John’s University. She is a member of the chamber’s educational committee.

The chamber participates in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), a mentoring program for the students, and awards scholarships to LHS seniors each year.

The Monmouth/Ocean chapter of the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO) will hold its monthly dinner meeting at 6 p.m. June 24 at Jumping Brook Country Club, Neptune. The sponsor of the meeting is Alex Coe, owner of At Home Senior Care, Toms River.

The dinner speaker is Sue Fitzpatrick, president of Fitzpatrick Printing and Design, Colts Neck, and incoming NJAWBO president. In addition to installing the chapter board, Fitzpatrick will share the experiences she gained from serving in several NJAWBO positions and how they helped her personally and professionally.
