A U11 boys travel soccer team is having tryouts on June 7 and 9 from 6-8 p.m. at the Sayreville Soccer Complex on Bordentown Avenue. Players must be born on Aug. 1, 1993, or later. The team is looking for a goalie and field players. For more information, call (732) 925-2288 or (732) 620-4613.

The Old Bridge Rockets soared to the U11 Memorial Day Manalapan Tournament, Blue Division Championship, over the Memorial day weekend in Manalapan. The Rockets were undefeated in the five games they played, outscoring their opponents 32-2. Goaltenders Harry Grewal and Frank Roselli had a combined three clean sheets. Goals and assists came from defenders Jordan Moretti, Init Patel, Christian Llerena, windscreen Sami Abdisubhan, midfielders Dan Scalgione, Adam Eyerman, Nick Santurro, Steven Contreras and strikers, Nick Petruzzi, Charles Mantione, Andy Llerena, Caine Czerula and Sean Safari. The patience, passing, aggressiveness, communication and effort were contagious throughout the tournament. The Rockets also would like to thank guest players Dan Scalgione, Frank Roselli, and Andy Llerena for their effort and enthusiasm, while sharing time with the team over the Memorial Day weekend.

The Sayreville Bombers Fourth Annual Wrestling Camp will be held July 6 to 9 from 9 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. Open to children (both boys and girls) entering grades 5 through 9 in September 2004. The camp will be held at Arleth Elementary School, Washington Road in Parlin. Cost is $100. The following are the results of the Tamarack Women’s Golf Association’s 18-Hole Group’s May 25 "Criers." (Convert 2 worst holes to par minus handicap) outing:

In Flight A, Ann Lin took first with a 70, followed by Lelia Nelson with a 73 and Charlotte Casey with a 77. Young Sook Kim had fewest putts. In Flight B, Tres Wist took first with a 65, followed by Betty Long with a 66 and Ellie De La Bandera. Tim Jesdanun had low putts. In Flight C, Jessica Kim took first with a 62, followed by Joan March with a 68 and Helen Jo with a 70. Judi Weinberg had low putts.

At the June 1, Low Gross/Low Net, outing, Flight A was won by Chung Hee Lee with a 98, followed by Lelia Nelson m/c with an 80 and Carolyn Meyers m/c with an 80. Low putts went to Rita Reisert. In Flight B, first place went to Muriel Feniello with a 102, followed by Tres Wist with a 76 and Betty Long with a 77. Low putts went to De La Bandera In Flight C, first place went to Judi Weinberg with a 110, followed by Helen Jo with an 82 and Joan March with an 85. Low putts went to Meryl Abramowitz. The Parlin Pirates ended their spring season in a tie for first place with the Millrock Marlins in the Cerbo Baseball 14/15U league. Playoffs start this weekend, with the finals slated for June 20. The winners will get a free scholarship to play in a tournament in Cooperstown, N.Y.

The Sayreville Raiders U11 girls travel soccer team won the Hopewell Valley Memorial Day Tournament scoring 15 goals in five games, while giving up only two goals. The players are Sarah Balon, Rebecca Beshada, Nicolette Craig, Cristy Falzone, Fahreta Kolenovic, Amanda Murray, Katy Nowell, Brittany Nowicki, Maggie Presnal, Katherine Reardon, Ashleylynn Remo, Crystal Rimiller, Margaret Santapaga, Samantha Satchell and Jennifer Stolte.
