will offer new program
The Metuchen Police will conduct an 11-week Citizens Police Academy program for borough residents beginning Sept. 9.
The program will offer residents an opportunity to become familiar with the day-to-day operations of their police department.
It will be open to borough residents who are over 21 years of age and who successfully complete a background investigation. Class size is limited. For further information, call Sgt. R. Rentenberg at (732) 632-8544.
Metuchen will offer
summer sports camps
Metuchen Recreation will offer several sports camps this summer:
• Bulldog Soccer School — ages 7-14, Edgar Field, week of July 5 and 19 from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Cost is $120.
• Hoops and Homers — ages 4-8, Hampton Park, week of July 12, Monday-Thursday, with Friday reserved for rainouts; ages 4-5 meet from 10-11:30 a.m.; ages 6-8 meet from 12:30-2 p.m. cost is $50 for residents, $60 for nonresidents.
• Metuchen Basketball Camp — ages 8-14, Metuchen High School, week of July 12 from 9 a.m.-noon. Cost is $100.
