Obituaries Lenoir Stewart

Lenoir Stewart, 83, Metuchen, died Wednesday at Mary Anne Hale Pavilion Haven Hospice, Edison. Born in South Amboy, she had lived in Metuchen since 1925. She graduated from Metuchen’s Franklin School and attended Tusculum College, Tenn. She was a secretary for Applegate Motors and General Cable Corp., Perth Amboy, where she met her husband of 55 years, Henry I. Stewart. She was predeceased by her father J. Arthur Applegate, her mother Adelaide Thompson Applegate and her sister Doris Weil. She is survived by three sons, Henry I. Stewart III and his wife Katherine of Arlington, Va., Keith A. Stewart, and his wife Christine of Edison, and Dr. James A. Stewart and his wife Tracy of Navarre, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, Metuchen. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be mailed to First Presbyterian Memorial Music Fund at P.O. Box 385, Metuchen, 08840.

Eugene G. Pfarr

Mr. Pfarr, 78, of Laurence Harbor died July 12 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge before moving to Laurence Harbor in 1958. Mr. Pfarr was a machinist at Hyatt Bearings Division of General Motors for several years, retiring in 1973. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a communicant of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Laurence Harbor. He is survived by his wife, Alice Yackulich Pfarr; a daughter, Lynn Lotz of Middletown; a son, Brian Pfarr of Parlin; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Lawrence Church, followed by interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport. The Day Funeral Home, Keyport, was in charge of arrangements.
