Obituaries John A. Ciaglia

Mr. Ciaglia, 87, of Long Branch died June 25 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Newark, he resided in Red Bank before moving to Long Branch 64 years ago. Mr. Ciaglia was a lead man at Bendix Corp., Eatontown, for 30 years, retiring in 1985. He was a communicant of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was predeceased by a brother, Vincent "Jimmy" Ciaglia; and a sister, Carmella Gargulio. Mr. Ciaglia is survived by his wife, Rose Sirianni Ciaglia; a son, John C. Ciaglia of Long Branch; two daughters and one son-in-law, Jean Germann of Jamesburg, and Arlene and Tullio Di Fedele of Howell; a brother, Joseph Ciaglia of West Long Branch; a sister, Nancy Congro of Freehold; and two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Holy Trinity Church. Entombment was at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. The Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch, was in charge of arrangements.

Alma Mary Herring Pedrazzo

Mrs. Pedrazzo, 86, of the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township, died July 2 at home. Born in North Bergen, she had been a resident of Oakhurst since 1989. Mrs. Pedrazzo was a clinic assistant at the Long Branch Public Health Nursing Association, retiring in 1984. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Deal, and a member of the Poplar Village Senior Club. She was predeceased by her husband, John F. Pedrazzo, in 1969. Mrs. Pedrazzo is survived by a son, Thomas Pedrazzo of Oakhurst; a daughter, Ellen Elbaor of Dallas; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial took place at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, West End section of Long Branch. Interment was at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. The Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch, was in charge of arrangements.

Cecelia Russo Sestito

Mrs. Sestito, 85, of Long Branch died July 4 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Long Branch. Born in Asbury Park, she had been a resident of Long Branch since 1944. Mrs. Sestito was a toll collector for the Garden State Parkway before her retirement. Prior to that, she was employed by the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She was a communicant of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Sestito, in 1974; and a sister, Ann Martone, in 1999. Mrs. Sestito is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Rose and Howard Kingsley of Long Branch; a son and daughter-in-law, Vincent J. and Adele Sestito of Point Pleasant; three brothers, Anthony Russo of Whiting; Joseph Russo of Deal; and former Sen. John F. Russo of Toms River; two sisters, Theresa Freda of Neptune City and Carol Marzarella of Lakewood; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service took place at Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity Church. Interment was at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport.
