The Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce (MCRCC) will host a variety of upcoming events.

A new-member orientation is set for 8:30-9:30 a.m. on Aug. 18 at the chamber office, 1 Distribution Way, Suite 101, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick.

Individuals who have joined the MCRCC within the past six months are invited to attend the free, comprehensive orientation program. Participants will learn how to take advantage of chamber benefits and will meet Chris Phelan, chamber president. Advance registration is required.

A Somerset Patriots Game/Merchants Night /’50s Night is set to begin at 6 p.m. on Aug. 28 at Commerce Bank Ballpark, Bridgewater. The event will feature the baseball game, an all-you-can-eat buffet and a performance by Jim Barone as Elvis.

Family members are welcome. Cost is $30 for MCRCC members, $40 for nonmembers. Seating is limited. Advance tickets are required.

The Fast-Track Networking event, originally scheduled for 8-9 a.m. on Aug. 20 at the MCRCC office, has been canceled. A new program, "The A.M. Connection," is planned for 8-9 a.m. on Sept. 17.

The Teicher Organization, East Brunswick, has announced the appointment of John Robert "Jake" Watkins II as its new general counsel. The Little Falls resident possesses more than 10 years’ experience as a real estate attorney, and will be responsible for litigation, negotiation, drafting residential and commercial real estate contracts, and handling government regulatory matters. Prior to joining Teicher, Watkins served as general counsel for Sussex and Warren Holding Corporation. He received his law degree at Widener University School of Law, Chester, Pa., and his bachelor of arts degree at Saint Anselm College, Manchester, N.H. A residential and commercial developer, The Teicher Organization is developing projects in New Jersey and New York.

Milagros "Millie" Padron and Donna Warters, both sales associates in the Weichert, Realtors’ East Brunswick office, recently were recognized for their industry successes in the month of June.

Padron led the office in sales. She earned a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Warters led the office in listings. A member of Weichert’s Sales Club and Marketed Club, she qualified for the New Jersey Association of Realtors 2003 Circle of Excellence Sales Club at the platinum level. In addition, Warters earned membership in Weichert’s President’s Club, recognizing her in the top 1 percent of the company’s 12,800 sales associates.
