Rainbow Academy Child Care Center, Edison, will hold the grand opening of its newest facility Aug. 7 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at 2878 Route 27, North Brunswick. The event will begin with a ribbon-cutting by Mayor Francis Womack, followed by a festival hosted by Magic 98.3. The event will feature a hula-hoop contest, face painting, karaoke for children, arts and crafts, and various cartoon characters. The Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce (MCRCC) will hold a new member orientation Aug. 18 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Chamber office at 1 Distribution Way, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick. Members that have joined the MCRCC within the past six months are invited to attend the free program. Preregistration is recommended. The Fast Track Networking even, scheduled for Aug. 20 has been postponed. The new program, The A.M. Connection, will begin Sept. 17 from 8-9 a.m. The chamber will sponsor a Merchants’ Night/50’s Night at the Somerset Patriots game Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. at Commerce Bank Ballpark, Bridgewater. Price is $40 for nonmembers and $30 for members for the event featuring an all you can eat buffet and a performance by Jim Barone as Elvis. Tickets must be purchased prior to event. The 12th annual Largest Networking Party will be Sept. 14 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency, New Brunswick. The event will feature food samples, wine and beer tasting, music, goody bags, live entertainment and giveaways. Cost is $30 for nonmembers, and $25 for members. Stop Spam Now will be Sept. 29 from 5:38-8:30 p.m. at DeVry University, North Brunswick. Cost is $40 for nonmembers and $25 for members. Prudential Fox & Roach Realtors, North Brunswick, recently recognized North Brunswick resident Maria Reynolds for accomplishments during the month of June. She was the office leader for listings, volume and units. Licensed as a broker since 1988, Reynolds she has been the recipient of the President’s Circle Award and the New Jersey Association of Realtors Circle of Excellence Award since 1987. Reynolds is a 24-year resident of North Brunswick.

Kathy J. Nelson, pastor and head-of-staff at First Presbyterian Church, Dayton section of South Brunswick, was recently elected as a new trustee by the board of trustees at Princeton Theological Seminary. Nelson has been pastor and head-of-staff at First Presbyterian the past 18 years. She was elected to the board by the seminary’s alumni/ae, and will serve as an alumni/ae trustee in the class of 2007. Nelson has three degrees from Princeton Seminary.
