Food pantry sets distribution dates

JACKSON — The food pantry run by the Jackson Women of Today will be open for food distribution on Aug. 26 from 5-7:30 p.m. for residents who are in need of grocery assistance.

Residents of Jackson must show a current utility bill each month, proof of identification and copies of birth certificates for children under the age of 18 residing in the household. Financial information will be requested and an application must be filled out at the first visit.

The pantry is in the former Jackson library at 65 Don Connor Blvd.

Adult volunteers are needed for stocking and bagging orders Aug. 24 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call Elizabeth for information and directions, (732) 683-9119.

Donations of nonperishable food items or fresh, washed produce can also be brought to the pantry during the above hours.

Food pantry distribution will take place Aug. 26, Sept. 23 and Oct. 28. Thanksgiving distribution will be held Nov. 18 and Christmas distribution will be Dec. 16. Distributions will be from 5-7:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

The Jackson Women of Today is a group of women interested in making a difference in the community. General membership meetings are held the second Monday of the month (starting in October) at 7:30 p.m. at the Orchards at Bartley on County Line Road.
