Infernos to end Jackson’s summer concert series

The show band The Infernos will head­line Jackson Township’s final concert in its free "Concert Under the Stars" series Aug. 31 at 7:30 p.m. The rain date will be Sept. 1. The concert will take place at John F. Johnson Jr. Memorial Park in Jackson. Attendees are advised to bring a blanket or lawn chair for their own comfort during the show. A dance floor will be provided. Vendors will be on hand from various local groups serving hamburgers, hot dogs, ice cream and beverages.

The Infernos perform music that ranges from big band to Motown and jazz in addi­tion to the sounds of today. Featured soloist Vince Torell provides the sounds of Frank Sinatra

The recreation department has been able to offer the "Concert Under the Stars" series to the general public due to the do­nations of sponsors such as CME, Bil-Jim and Pathmark. The concerts are also funded in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, department of the state, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts through a grant administered by the Ocean County Cultural and Heritage Commission.
