Prudential Fox & Roach Realtors, North Brunswick, has announced James Sturgis as an office leader during July. Sturgis was recognized for listings. A Realtor associate and Edison resident, he is a member of the Million Dollar Sales Club, and recipient of Circle of Excellence and Honors Society Awards. Also honored was Eileen Thomas. Thomas, a Milltown resident, was recognized for volume and units. She is also a recipient of a Circle of Excellence and Honor Society Awards.

The accounting and consulting firm of WithumSmith&Brown (WS&B), New Brunswick, has announced the promotion of Richard Bobroski, North Brunswick from staff level I to staff level II accountant. Bobroski received a bachelor’s degree in accounting at Rutgers University, New Brunswick. WS&B has locations in Princeton, Red Bank, New Brunswick, Livingston, Toms River and Flemington; and Newtown, Pa.

Rutgers University has begun several renovations at its New Brunswick campus. Renovations include the "College Hall" apartment complex for up to 671 students, scheduled for completion in August 2005. "University Square" is a 13-story housing complex slated to open in the fall of 2006 in Newark. The university also completed state-mandated fire sprinkler installations at all its residences. It will partner with DEVCO, New Brunswick, on downtown improvements such as Heldrich Plaza, which will include a hotel, conference center, condos and retail space. The project is expected to open in the summer of 2006. A public safety building on George Street, New Brunswick, is also a collaboration with DEVCO and will open next summer. Housing on both the New Brunswick and Piscataway campuses will be improved via interior renovations and landscaping.

Milltown chiropractor Tyler M. Richards will present "Fibromyalgia: Winning Techniques That Help Improve Performance and Eliminate Risk of Injury" Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. The free workshop will be at North Brunswick Public Library. Tyler will discuss the neurological and physiological causes of the disease and its effects on the body. Registration is required and may be done by calling (732) 246-3545.

The Allstar Dance Academy at Market Place Mall, routes 27 and 518, South Brunswick, is now accepting registration for its fall Kids’ MusicRound classes. Classes consist of music and movement instruction for families with young children, and are offered Tuesday through Saturday. Program director is Barbara Lysenko. Keep Middlesex Moving Inc. (KMM) has introduced the new program, the "Vanpool Empty Seat Subsidy" to promote ride-sharing and help commuter vanpools stay on the road. The subsidy is available to third-party vanpool groups or those that lease vans from one of three approved vendors and with riders that share monthly commuting costs. The sub­sidy assists vans with 20 percent or more empty seats, including new groups and existing groups that have lost members. The program affords commuter groups a $125 monthly sub­side for up to three months, depending on terms of eligibility and availability of funding. Ernest C. Reock Jr., South Brunswick, was recently appointed by Gov. James E. McGreevey to the Property Tax Convention Task Force. The force consists of 15 members, with nine ap­pointed by McGreevey, two by the Senate president, two by the as­sembly speaker, one that is a member of the Senate ap­pointed by the Senate mi­nority leader, and one assembly member appointed by the assembly minority leader. Reock is a professor emeritus at and former director of the center for gov­ernment services at Rutgers University, New Brunswick. He is the author of sev­eral books, including the recent "Unfinished Business: The New Jersey Constitutional Convention of 1966," and the "Handbook for New Jersey Asses­sors."
