    Sale’ benefits community

    The Howell Community Alliance for the Prevention of Alcohol and Drug Abuse is sponsoring a Treasure Trove Yard Sale on Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Human Services Building, Route 524. The rain date will be Oct. 16. Anyone who has items to sell can reserve a space for a donation of $5 (table not included) or $10 (includes a table). All proceeds will benefit the community.     ‘Disco Dance Party’ to

    benefit ailing Jackson girl

    Tickets are presently on sale for the Optimist Club of Jackson’s Disco Dance Party to be held Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Larsen Road Firehouse, Larsen and New Prospect roads, Jackson. Proceeds from the party will benefit Dana Jeffer-son, a 13-year-old girl from Jackson who was recently diagnosed with leukemia. She is currently undergoing treatment and will require a lengthy hospital stay. The admission charge of $30 per person includes a buffet, cash bar, door prizes, a 50/50 raffle and a disco dance contest.

    Entertainment will be provided by DJ Wally of Classic Entertainment in addition to Phil Fraricauilla portraying John Travolta from the movie “Saturday Night Fever.” Dressing 70s-style optional.

    Lakewood Mayor Raymond Coles announced the Lakewood Community School Fall 2004 brochure, listing adult enrichment classes, excursions and activities, was mailed to all residents. Registration is in progress for classes in career skills, computers, GED preparation, music and dance, recreation and fitness, hobbies, arts and crafts, and more.     Cruise night and pet

    Jackson Outlet Village, Route 537 and Route 571, Jackson, will host its fifth annual Fossil Car Club Cruise Night on Sept. 24. American cars from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s will be on display. The show will begin at 6 p.m. In addition to the Cruise Night, a pet adoption event sponsored by the Monmouth County SPCA will take place at the shopping center Sept. 26 from noon to 3 p.m. The North Shore Animal League van will be on site with many pets ready to be adopted.
