Freeholder Harry Larrison Jr., director of the Board of Chosen Freeholders, was honored at the Monmouth County Planning Board annual dinner held in mid-September in Aberdeen Township. Larrison was presented with the Planning Board’s Diamond Anniversary Planning Award during the dinner ceremony. The board chose Larrison based on involvement in advancing several county initiatives, including the Monmouth County Park System, Brookdale Community College, and the Belford Ferry.

Also honored for 19 years of service on the Planning Board was former county engineer, Theodore A. Giannechini. George Illmensee was honored for his for 13 years of service on the board.

Tim Dillingham, Hopewell, executive director of the American Littoral Society, Sandy Hook, was recently nominated by Gov. James E. McGreevey to the Highlands Water Protection and Planning Council. The council will work with local officials to prepare a master plan for the entire Highlands region, including both preservation and planning areas, within the next 18 months. The region is the state’s last remaining large expanse of mountain lakes and streams and unbroken forests. Dillingham was previously executive director of the Highlands Coalition, director of policy for the New Jersey Conservation Foundation, and director of the Sierra Club-New Jersey chapter. Prior to moving to New Jersey, he was a senior policy analyst for the state of Rhode Island, and environmental planner for the Nature Conservancy.

Michele M. Marandola, Hazlet, was recently promoted to assistant vice president, consumer lending, at The Provident Bank, Woodbridge. Marandola will be responsible for overseeing the processing and underwriting of all consumer loans. She joined the bank 15 years ago, and has worked in its consumer lending department ever since, beginning at Provident’s headquarters in Jersey City. She and her husband, Aldo, are the parents of daughter, Cristina.

The dancers also performed last summer at the pre-game show for the Lady Liberty women’s basketball team, and were invited back by Madison Square Garden (the women’s basketball games were moved to Radio City due to the Republican Convention). The performance team consisted of 54 dancers, under the direction of Susan Fortier and Janet Layden.
