The International Ceramics Associ-ation held its annual competition and show at Westfield.
From the nearly 100 works of sculpture judged, Amanda Salter, a senior at Lakewood High School, took home three awards (Highest Points, Best of Classification, and the Judges’ Merit) for her coil-built handbag. The work is now on display in the lobby showcase of the high school.
In addition, her teacher, Brian Schauer, won Highest Points as well as the Raku Award in the professional category. His piece of raku pottery is also on display.
