Trabucco will bring checks, balances to board

The time for a change in Middlesex County is right now. I am extremely tired of the high property taxes, pay-to-play deals and overall lack of ethics that the current members of our Board of Chosen Freeholders have displayed in office. All one needs to look at is the Halper Farm fiasco to see how far this county has fallen, and I feel it is truly time for a change in government.

One candidate who is running for freeholder has become a shining beacon of change and one who I feel can put our county government back on track. Pete Trabucco has already shown his leadership and concern for people — for years he has successfully lobbied state bills for both the American Heart Association and the New Jersey State Law Enforcement Officers Association. Thanks to his work, it is now legal for anyone to use a lifesaving Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in the state of New Jersey. He helped make this bill become state law, and now thousands of people in New Jersey have a better chance at life.

Furthermore, he has been instrumental in making sure that our state and local police forces have been property trained in the use of AEDs. He also has made sure that the AEDs are present in all federal and state facilities around New Jersey.

Pete also performs public service with the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol (CAP) program, and he has been instrumental in promoting homeland defense issues over the past few years as well.

He knows what the people want and expect and has never lost sight of the fact that an elected official works for the people and not the other way around. I can’t think of anyone else more qualified to take on a Democratic freeholder majority that simply rubber-stamps most bills that come across its desk.

If elected, Pete will re-establish the law of checks and balances on what is now a biased, partisan freeholder board, and will look toward the overall interests of the people in Middlesex County. With him, I see serious positive change coming to the county.

I urge residents to vote for Pete Trabucco and his Republican counterparts this year. Together, they will help overcome the scandal, poor planning and special-interest deals that have been plaguing our county for years.
