Police hunt for assault suspect

JACKSON — Police are investigating the assault of a 30-year-old Azalea Circle woman that reportedly occurred at her residence on the morning of Oct. 27.

The suspect in the assault, according to police, was described as a white male in his early 20s, with no facial hair, no glasses, wearing a dark jacket, dark pants and boots. Police said he was last seen exiting the bathroom of the home.

As a result of the attack, the victim received non-life-threatening lacerations to the arm and chest, police said.

Police said they received a 911 call from the woman from her residence at 9:22 a.m., reporting that she had been assaulted in her home by an unknown assailant. She was home alone at the time of the attack.

Jackson police responded to the scene of the assault. The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department also assisted in the investigation with its K-9 unit and criminal investigation crime scene unit. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office is also aiding in the investigation.

As of Tuesday, police reported that they have not made any arrests and said the identity of the suspect is unknown. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Jackson Police Detective Ted Kucowski at (732) 833-3018. Kucowski and Jackson police officer Scott Conover investigated.
