FTHS to stage ‘Go Ask Alice’

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP — The Patriot Players of Freehold Township High School, Elton-Adelphia Road, will be presenting the drama “Go Ask Alice” on Nov. 18-20. The play by Frank Shiras is based on the real diary of an anonymous girl.

The play deals with Alice, an average girl who is trying to find her place in the world. When she decides to try drugs, she gets more than she bargained for: false friends, betrayal, and ultimately, destruction. This play is honest in its portrayal of drug abuse.

“Go Ask Alice” contains mature themes and language. Parental discretion is advised.

The play stars Jackie Burns as Alice, with Alyssa Campanella and Mike Stringer as her parents, and Gina Panarese and Dan Simicich as her brother and sister. Also featured are Jaclyn Cortez, Lauren Davidson, T.J. DeRosa, Alex Galli, Leigha Giglio, Shaun Hinklein, Tiffany Humphries, Brittany Kapulsky, Colleen Kelsey, Kim Mackanic, Bijan Mousavi, Bianca Porter, Samantha Ritzer, Brent Sheppard, Amanda Sorrento, Jeffrey Sherwood, Jennifer Tropia and Michael Yodice.

The play is directed by FTHS drama teacher Patt Giblin, who also designed the lighting. The assistant director is senior Suzanne Baynes. Set design is by senior Rich Scibetti. Class of 2005 members Veronica Man and Andrea Egizi have designed costumes and props, respectively. The production stage manager is junior Kristen Greene, and her assistant stage managers are senior Lauren Finnila and junior Mike Stringer.

Performances at Freehold Township High School are scheduled for Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 19 at 8 p.m., and Nov. 20 at 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets are $6 for students and seniors, and $8 general admission. Call (732) 431-8460 for more information.
