E. Martin Davidoff, CPA, a 26-year resident of East Brunswick, has been named one of the nation’s Most Influential People in Accounting for 2004 by Accounting Today magazine. According to the magazine, Davidoff was selected because “his views on issues affecting tax practice are heard at the highest levels of government.”

Davidoff is the founder and firm manager of E. Martin Davidoff & Associates, Dayton section of South Brunswick.

Throughout his career, Davidoff has devoted time to many civic and professional associations including the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants, which represents individuals who are dually licensed as attorneys and CPAs. As the founder and chairperson of the group’s IRS (Internal Revenue Service) Tax Liaison Committee, he has worked directly with IRS officials to affect positive changes in many areas impacting businesses, individuals and fellow tax professionals.

In addition to his work with the IRS, Davidoff is a co-author of New Jersey’s S-Corporation legislation, was named a 1997 Accountant Advocate of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration and was appointed by Gov. Christine Todd Whitman as a delegate to the 1995 White House Conference on Small Business.

He is a past officer, trustee and chapter president of the New Jersey Society of CPAs, and he served on the Tax Legislation Liaison Committee for the American Institute of CPAs. He chaired the Tax Issues Committee of the National Federation of Independent Business Leadership Council and is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
