Victorian Holiday Party at Taylor-Butler House

The Monmouth County Historical Association will hold its annual Victorian Holiday Party at the historic Taylor-Butler House, 127 Kings Highway, Middletown.

Glittering ribbons of red, green and gold will deck the halls of the stately 1800s home on Dec. 11, starting at 7 p.m. The event will feature hors d’oeuvres provided by Mumford’s, holiday music, a silent auction, and an opportunity to purchase estate jewelry from Gem of an Idea, of Fair Haven. The home’s stairways, fireplaces and historic rooms will be decorated by local garden clubs. This year, their creations will be judged, and an award will be presented for the most spectacular display. All of the decorations and a variety of gift baskets will be offered for silent auction, as well as the annual tradition of auctioning one-of-a-kind Christmas trees for $200-$500 each.

Connie Chung and Maury Povich has agreed to lead the fund-raising effort to benefit the preservation of MCHA’s five historic properties.

Reservations for the black-tie event are $150 per person. Sponsorships are still available at $1,000. For reservations or sponsorships, call the MCHA’s Donna Kanner, (732) 462-1466.
