The Rape Care Program of 180, Turning Lives Around is offering a 10-week education, therapeutic intervention and support group for survivors of sexual assault and incest. The Sexual Assault and Incest Survivors Support Group will meet Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Hazlet. Anyone interested in attending is asked to call 180’s intake department, (732) 264-4111 or toll-free (888) 843-9262, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. The confidentiality of group members is maintained at all times.
The agency is also seeking caring and committed men and women to volunteer in assisting survivors of sexual abuse by becoming rape care advocates and members of the Monmouth County SART (Sexual Assault Response Team). There is a particular need for bilingual and multilingual individuals.
The 80-hour training will begin with a full-day orientation Jan. 15. Subsequent sessions will be held Thursday evenings and alternate Saturdays.
