Lisa Schuesler

Mrs. Schuesler, 56, of Carteret, died Nov. 29 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Germany, she had resided in Bayonne before moving to Carteret 35 years ago. She graduated in 1962 from Bayonne’s Holy Name Academy and in 1992 from Elizabeth General Hospital School of Nursing, a cooperative program through Union County College, Cranford. She was employed as a registered nurse at Trinitas Hospital, Elizabeth, since 2001 and had worked from 1992-94 at the Veterans Administration medical center in East Orange. Mrs. Schuesler was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Carteret. She was predeceased by a sister, Julia Wasilewski. Surviving are her husband of 34 years, Charles J. Schuesler; a daughter, Geraldine Schuesler, of Carteret, and her fiancé, Joseph Muniz; a son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Janie Schuesler, of Concord, Calif.; and a brother, Ores Pacholczuk, of Texas, formerly of Bridgewater. Funeral services were held at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, Woodbridge, followed by a funeral liturgy at St. Joseph’s Church. Entombment took place at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens. Wayne C. Newbold

Mr. Newbold, 36, of South River, formerly of Woodbridge, died Nov. 23 in Rahway Hospital. Surviving are his wife, Rowena Sorrell Newbold; three children, Ashley, Grant and George Newbold, all at home; his parents, Maureen and Peter Newbold of England; and two sisters, Deborah Sully and Tracey Charman of England. Services were held at Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River. Cremation was private.

Charles M. Nagy

Mr. Nagy, 83, of Woodbridge, died Nov. 12 at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Born in Bridgeton, he was a lifelong resident of Woodbridge. Prior to retiring in 1975, he was a tool and die maker for General Electric Co. in Springfield for 25 years. A U.S. Army veteran, he served with the 63rd Infantry Division during World War II. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Avenel Memorial Post 7164, Woodbridge, and also belonged to American Legion T. Nulty Post 471, Iselin section of Woodbridge. Mr. Nagy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen Kostyn Nagy; two daughters, Karen Ortyl, of Indiana, and Lois Hartnack, of the Fords section of Woodbridge; a son, Lawrence C. Nagy, of Woodbridge; two sisters, Julia Choma and Mary Kenny; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, Woodbridge, followed by a funeral liturgy at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Interment took place at Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Woodbridge. Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 710 W. 168th St., New York, NY 10032.

Joseph Choma Sr.

Mr. Choma, 78, of the Morgan section of Sayreville, died Nov. 25 at home. Prior to his retirement in 1986, he was employed in the facility and services department at Prudential Insurance Co., Iselin section of Woodbridge. Prior to that, he worked for RCA, Avenel section of Woodbridge. Surviving are his wife, Eleanore Kunie Choma; three sons, Joseph Jr. of South Amboy, Richard of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Robert of Brick; a daughter, Jo Anne Dunagan of Williamstown; a brother, Michael Choma of Inverness, Fla.; three sisters, Anna Martoken and Dorothy Simkovich, both of the Fords section of Woodbridge, and Helen Ballek of Port Charlotte; and 10 grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Edison. Interment was in Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy.
