Local sextet set to appear on Jane Pauley Show

Key of She’s selection will be "See The Light," written by member Patty Cronheim and arranged by member Sue Jaques.

Key of She, the Princeton-based a cappella sextet of women vocalists, is scheduled to appear on The Jane Pauley Show (NBC) on Dec. 23, according to a publicist for the show. The show was taped Dec. 7.
The group was sought out to perform traditional holiday songs with four other a cappella groups: The Whiffenpoofs and Out of The Blue, both of Yale University; the male quintet, Rockapella, known for their five seasons on the PBS show, "Where is Carmen Sandiego?"; and the 2003 barbershop quartet champions, Power Play.
All four groups will be performing traditional holiday music without accompaniment. Key of She’s selection will be "See The Light," written by member Patty Cronheim and arranged by member Sue Jaques.
"We are thrilled that Jane Pauley personally requested our group for her show," said Ms. Jaques of Skillman, who started Key of She three years ago with Pat Stearman of Pennington. "We are big fans of Jane, but had no idea she was a fan of ours!"
"A nationally syndicated show? Millions of daytime viewers? What a wonderful present in our stocking this year!" said Ms. Stearman. "The timing couldn’t be better for us, because our new CD – In the Key of She – is due for release in January."
Key of She features the "vocal percussion" that Bobby McFerrin made famous — using the human voice to imitate a variety of instruments. In 2002, Key of She won "Audience Favorite" and First Runner-Up at the New York regional competition of the Harmony Sweepstakes, considered the annual a cappella "Super Bowl." They opened for Ray Charles in May 2002 at the Union County Arts Center in Rahway and also have performed at The Conduit in Trenton, Odette’s in New Hope and Princeton Friends School’s annual "Frolic."
Other members of Key of She include Lisa Ernst (Hightstown), Dyann Mazzeo (Lambertville) and Amy Raditz (Lambertville).
The show is scheduled to air the week of Dec. 13 on NBC. Check local listings on the show’s Web site at www.thejanepauleyshow.com for exact dates and airtimes. For more information about Key of She, contact Ms. Jaques at 466-2492 or [email protected] or visit www.KEYOFSHE.com.
