Master gardeners provide advice via e-mail

Residents who have questions about gardening now have an additional way to obtain information from the Master Gardeners of Monmouth County.

Besides calling the Master Gardeners’ helpline, which is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., residents can now e-mail their questions and photographs to seek horticultural advice. Master gardeners are also available in person during helpline hours at the new Agriculture Building off Kozloski Road in Freehold Township.

The help line number is (732) 303-7614, and the e-mail address is [email protected].

Applications for next year’s Master Gardener program are available by calling the Rutgers Cooperative Extension office, (732) 431-7260. Master Gardeners attend at least 60 hours of training and volunteer at least 60 hours at horticulture-related projects to become certified. The Master Gardener program of Monmouth County is sponsored by the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Monmouth County in cooperation with the Monmouth County Park System and Brookdale Community College.
