Carolyn M. Sherman

Mrs. Sherman, 60, of Keansburg, died Dec. 11 at home. Born in Newark, she resided there prior to moving to Keansburg in 1972. She was a homemaker and a communicant of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. She enjoyed time with her family and bingo. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Sherman in 1994, a daughter, Carolyn Andalora Hazzard in 1995, and a sister, Geneieve Tamarato in 1982. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Mark and Charlene Andalora, Steven Andalora, and Bill and June Sherman, all of Keansburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Ralph Gencarelli of Keansburg, and Jody and Bill Sherman of the Leonardo section of Middletown; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Arlene and Frank Corso of Hazlet, Debra and Harry Paule of Belford, and Barbara and Bill August of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Alan and Rose Young of Manalapan, and Kevin and Donna Young of Jackson; and eight grandchildren. A funeral gathering will be Dec. 15 at 9 a.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral liturgy will follow at 10:15 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church, followed by burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

Marian R. White

Mrs. White, 76, of Middletown, died Dec. 15. Born in Jersey City, she resided there prior to moving to Middletown six years ago. She was a retired clerk at Hudson County Welfare Department, where she was employed 15 years. She is survived by her former husband, Donald White of Ridgefield Park; three sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Dolores White Jr. of Glen Rock, Richard and Mary White of Kearny, and Robert and Ann White of Manalapan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Joseph Ilian of Chicago, and Janet and Gregory White-DePaul of Matawan; and eight grandchildren. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.

Michael Scott Bindler

Mr. Bindler, 46, of Montgomery Center, Vt., died from a brain aneurysm Dec. 13 in Montgomery Center. Born in Neptune, he had lived in Freehold before moving to Vermont 15 years. Mr. Bindler was the proprietor of Phineas Swann Bed and Breakfast, Montgomery Center. He had operated Tops N Town Cleaners, Freehold and Manalapan, and Ain’t Just Chicken, Manalapan, before moving to Vermont. He was a graduate of Freehold Township High School and Florida International University. Mr. Bindler is survived by his partner, Glen Bartolomeo, of Montgomery Center; his parents, Larry and Natalie Bindler, of Jackson; two sisters, Robin Cuneo and Lori Bindler, both of Freehold; one niece and one nephew. A memorial service was held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold.

Allen F. Bromell

Mr. Bromell, 87, of Austell, Ga., formerly of Englishtown, died Dec. 11. Born in Monmouth County, he had lived in Englishtown and Floral City, Fla., before moving to Austell three years ago. He worked as a weaver for the A&M Karagheusian Rug Co., Freehold, then as a coffee roaster operator for Nestlé Co., Freehold. He also was part owner of A&B Cesspool Cleaners and operated the car wash on Throckmorton Street in Freehold. A U.S. Army veteran, he served as a paratrooper during World War II. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church and the Grand Lodge of New Jersey, Olive Branch Masonic Lodge No. 16, both of Freehold. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Julia (Houser) Bromell; a son, Bruce Bromell, of Marietta, Ga.; two daughters, Donna Fox, of Marietta, and Beth Salkowitz, of Farmingdale; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at a later date. Medford-Peden Funeral Home, Marietta, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to a local hospice organization.
