Real estate firm opens office in Concordia

MONROE — Gloria Nilson GMAC Real Estate recently opened its 18th New Jersey branch on Perrineville Road.

Located in the Concordia Shopping Center, the office will serve buyers of homes throughout Middlesex County.

The company has been serving the area from its offices in South Brunswick and Princeton Junction for the past five years.

“While Monroe has long been home to one of the largest concentrations of [retirement] communities in the state, new construction of single-family homes, low property taxes and the excellent reputation of its schools make it a popular destination for young families as well,” said Gary Foulks, a regional vice president with the firm.

Monroe boasts the lowest taxes in Middlesex County. The average annual tax for a home assessed at $200,000 is $3,959.

While families have been flocking to the area, Monroe is still a destination for the older population.

“There are at least four new active-adult communities set to open in 2005 and 78 new single-family home sites that are just completed or set for development,” said Arlene Mulry-Pearl, a sales associate in the new office and a Monroe resident. “It’s a great setting for people who want to enjoy the next chapter in their lives.”
