Forum Theatre to hold ‘chick flick’ night Jan. 13
The Metuchen Cultural Arts Commission, in conjunction with the Forum Theatre, 314 Main St., Metuchen, will be sponsoring a "chick flick" night (gentleman are also welcome) at the theater at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 13, featuring the Academy Award-winning movie "From Here to Eternity," starring Burt Lancaster, Montgomery Clift, Donna Reed and Deborah Kerr. Based on the novel by James Jones, the 1953 classic is a World War II drama that chronicles the lives and loves of soldiers on an Army base in Honolulu just days before the Japanese attack Pearl Harbor. The film includes actual footage of the surprise attack. Admission is $5, payable at the theater the evening of the show. Doors will open at 7 p.m., and refreshments will be sold.
