Museum seeks art submissions for exhibit

The Montclair Art Museum (MAM) is accepting submissions of art work for consideration to be exhibited in the “New Jersey Arts Annual:Fine Arts” exhibit through Feb. 1.

The New Jersey Arts Annual is a series of fine arts and crafts exhibitions highlighting the works of visual artists and crafts people in the state. The juried show is open to any artist currently living or working in New Jersey.

The New Jersey Fine Arts exhibition theme is “New Jersey: A Sense of Place.” Prospectus and additional information are available by calling the museum, (973) 746-5555.

There is no entry fee for applicants, who are required to submit the entry form in the prospectus, as well as slides of their work, a current résumé and artist’s statement by Feb. 1. The exhibition will take place at MAM June 18 through Sept. 11.

Jurors for the exhibition are Beth Venn, independent curator and former curator, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Nancy Maguire, gallery director and curator, Rutgers-Camden Center for the Arts, Camden; and Janet Taylor Pickett, artist and professor emeritus, Essex County Community College, Montclair.
