Erminia Raimondi DeSantis

Mrs. DeSantis, 91, of Long Branch, died Jan. 22 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Long Branch. Born in Vallefiorita, Italy, she was a lifelong resident of the Shore area. Mrs. DeSantis was a communicant at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. She was predeceased by her husband, Rosario DeSantis, in 1970. She is survived by three sons, Peter R. DeSantis of Fair Haven, Joseph J. DeSantis of Neptune Township, and Russell R. DeSantis of Ocean Township; two daughters, Tina of Long Branch and Mary of San Francisco; three daughters-in-law, Cheryl, Barbara and Susan; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Jan. 27 at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church. The Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch, is in charge of arrangements. Nancy Ellen Siegel

Mrs. Siegel, 59, of Ocean Township, died Jan. 17. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Sheldon Siegel of Ocean Township; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Karen Foderaro of Jackson; two daughters and one son-in-law, Karen and John Aria of West Long Branch, and Allison Siegel of Ocean Township; a stepdaughter, Deena Zimmerman, and her husband, Earl, of North Andover, Mass.; two stepsons, Michael Siegel of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Adam Siegel and his wife, Karen, of Long Branch; and seven grandchildren. Arrangements were by Worden-Hoidel Funeral Home, Oakhurst section of Ocean Township.

Mildred Caiola Donato

Mrs. Donato, 96, of Long Branch, died Jan. 7 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in New York, she had resided in Jersey City before moving to Long Branch in 1952. Mrs. Donato was a homemaker. She was a communicant of Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Donato, in 1961; and a granddaughter Donna-Jean Roberts, in 1998. She is survived by two sons, Louis Donato of Eatontown and Sammy Donato of Florida; four daughters, Tina Donato and Millie Rich, both of Long Branch, Jeanette Castello of Eatontown, and Rita Tomaini of Florida; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Star of the Sea Church, followed by interment at Mount Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch. Arrangements were by Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch.

Alicia Ann Goodhue

Mrs. Goodhue, 79, of Red Bank, died Jan. 14 at home. She was born in Hartford, Conn., and resided in Boston prior to moving to Red Bank in 1954. She was an alcoholism counselor and admitting nurse in the alcohol rehabilitation field, most recently at Century House at Riverview Hospital, Red Bank, and The New Hope Foundation, Marlboro. Prior to that, she was a geriatric nurse, home health care provider, and surgical nurse in the Boston area. She was a member of and volunteer at St. Anselm’s Roman Catholic Church, Wayside section of Ocean Township, and St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She enjoyed knitting and sewing. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry E. Goodhue Sr. in 1980; and a daughter, Alicia in 2003. She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Henry and Rebecca Goodhue of Red Bank, John and Debra Goodhue of Oceanport, Paul and Carol Goodhue of Shrewsbury, and Peter Goodhue of Rumson; four daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and W. Michael Moore of Red Bank, Grace and James Bills of Oceanport, Theresa and George Ciccone of Monmouth Beach, and Geraldine and Daniel Thompson of the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township; and 18 grandchildren. A memorial gathering will be Feb. 11 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., and a memorial Mass will be celebrated on Feb. 12 at 11 a.m. at St. Anselm’s Church. Valliant W. Straub

Mr. Straub, 88, of Ocean Grove, died Jan. 4 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in New Cumberland, Pa., he resided in West Long Branch before moving to Ocean Grove. Mr. Straub was an educator for the Monmouth County Vocational School for 20 years, retiring in 1983. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1945-48, and later served in the Air Force Reserve until 1961. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Shrewsbury, the Retired Teachers Association, and the West Long Branch Senior Citizens. Mr. Straub was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Elizabeth Pasek Straub, in 2000. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Maryann Straub of Succasunna; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Richard Kulkaski of Forked River; and three grandchildren. A funeral service was held at First Presbyterian Church, followed by interment at the church cemetery. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.
