The Monmouth/Ocean Chapter of New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners will hold a dinner meeting Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. at the Sheraton Eatontown, Route 35 at Industrial Way. The topic of discussion will be “Guerrilla Marketing and the Seven-sentence Marketing Plan for Small Businesses.” Presenter Ellen Silverman of Ellen Silverman Associates LLC, Pluckemin, will discuss separating businesses from the competition, competing in the marketplace with a limited budget, and developing a marketing plan guaranteed to boost the bottom line. The Mid-Jersey Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Oakhurst section of Ocean Township, recently received the Excellence in Emotional Health Programs award for its “Chase Away the Blues” program. The chapter also received the Excellence in Independent Living/Employment Programs award for its professional education program. The program provided professionals working with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services for the State of New Jersey a better understanding of multiple sclerosis. The awards were presented at the Multiple Sclerosis Society’s national conference held in Denver.

The Alzheimer’s Association, in conjunction with Royal Senior Care, 1041 Route 36, Atlantic Highlands, will offer an education and support group the first Wednesday of each month from 7-8:15 p.m. at the care center. The Holmdel Democratic Alliance will hold its next meeting Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Holmdel Senior/Community Center, Crawfords Corner Road. The public is welcome to attend, and coffee and dessert will be served. The meeting will focus on the alliance’s goals for 2005. Matawan-Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce is accepting reservations from businesses and professionals for its fourth annual “Business Expo” scheduled for March 22. The Holmdel office of Weichert, Realtors announced that Taliese Cooper, Michael Arbolino and Linda Lucash were recognized for industry successes during December. Cooper led the office in listings, while Arbolino led the office in sales and revenue units. Lucash, a member of Weichert’s Sales Club, led the office in dollar volume.

Discoveryland Daycare & Pre-School, Keyport, has announced the opening of its newest child care center, at Ventura Shopping Center, 1275 Route 35, Middletown. The school will accommodate children ages 6 weeks to 6 years. Charles H. Hoens is president and CEO of the centers.
