Pamintuan is presented with humanitarian award

Alexander Pamintuan, clinical coordinator for the cardiac catheterization lab at Raritan Bay Medical Center, has received the 2004 Friends’ Health Connection Frances Black Humanitarian Award in Healthcare.

The award recognizes individuals from New Jersey and New York hospitals and health care facilities who are considered to be an extraordinary inspiration to others.

Before receiving the award at a recent dinner, Pamintuan, of Edison, was recognized for his compassion for patients and their families throughout their entire continuum of medical treatment, his compliance with all regulatory standards and practices, and for his expertise in his field.

Pamintuan began his career at Raritan Bay Medical Center, with divisions in Old Bridge and Perth Amboy, in 1988 working in the critical care unit ,and left in 1994 to train in invasive and interventional cardiology. He returned in 1997 and established the cardiac catheterization laboratory with the directorship of Dr. Rakesh Sahni, and was instrumental in the initiation of the Primary Angioplasty Program for Acute Myocardial Infarction last August. He is a member of the Society of Invasive Cardiology Personnel and Phi Theta Kappa international honor society, Delta Chapter. Pamintuan also holds a degree in computer informatics systems.

“Receiving this distinguished award brings about a true sense of fulfillment and validation. And to be recognized by an organization that is genuinely dedicated to caring makes it all the more satisfying,” Pamintuan said.

Friends’ Health Connection is a nonprofit organization that provides support and educational programs for individuals with health problems, their families and health care professionals.
