The New Jersey State Bar Foundation will host a mock trial conference April 5 from 9 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the New Jersey Law Center, 1 Constitution Square, New Brunswick. The free conference is open to teachers of grades three through eight and is designed to show attendees how to teach law in the classroom. Gloria Nilson GMAC Real Estate, South Brunswick, has announced Linda Schwarz logged sales exceeding $35 million during 2004, making it the third consecutive year she has broken the sales barrier. Her performance earned her the distinction of being one of the top real estate agents in South Brunswick, the state and the nation. Among the 22,000 GMAC agents nationwide, Schwarz was 39th in transactions and 26th in gross commission income. She will be honored later this year when she is inducted into the New Jersey Association of Realtors (NJAR) Circle of Excellence at the platinum or highest level. Schwarz has been a member of the NJAR Million Dollar Sales Club since 1993, and is a member of the Medallion Club Summit, a group of top producers from across the nation.

SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) Chapter 14 will hold a workshop titled “Personal Financial Planning for Business Owners, Graduates and Young Families” from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on March 19 at Raritan Valley Community College, North Branch section of Branchburg.

The hands-on workshop is geared toward those who want to make capital improvements that will enhance their lifestyles. Consultants from SCORE will help participants prepare a financial plan that will help to handle finances responsibly.

The goal of the program is to acquaint individuals with budgeting and managing expenses, credit cards and other debts.

Participants will present their financial plan to SCORE counselors acting as bankers.

Fee is $25 and includes registration and tuition. Each participant will receive a copy of the book “Starting and Managing Your Own Business in New Jersey.”

SCORE Chapter 14 counsels small businesses in Middlesex, Somerset and Hunterdon counties and is a part of the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Several sales associates in the Weichert, Realtors’ East Brunswick office recently were recognized for achieving goals in the month of December.

Chen Hwa Yang, Reina Laffont, Hyeon Kim, Colleen Avalone, Romayne O’Neill, Milagros Padron and Benet Castro earned membership in the 500 Club for reaching a minimum of $500,000 in sales in the month.

Cristina Lacerda, Christina Huang, Mary Merullo and Donna Warters earned membership in the Elite Club for reaching a minimum of $1 million in sales in the month.

Michael Columbo, John Horvath, Patsyann Ferri and Patricia Flanigan, all sales associates in the Weichert, Realtors’ Old Bridge office, recently were recognized for their industry successes.

Columbo led the office in listings for November. He is a member of Weichert’s Marketed Club.

Horvath led the office in sales and was named overall top producer for November. A member of Weichert’s Sales Club, he qualified for the New Jersey Association of Realtors 2003 Circle of Excellence Sales Club at the bronze level.

Ferri led the office in listings for the month of December. A licensed real estate professional with 20 years’ experience, she is a registered nurse with a business background. She previously worked as a management information systems liaison at The Memorial Medical Center at South Amboy. A member of Weichert’s Million Dollar Club, Ferri qualified for the New Jersey Association of Realtors 2003 Circle of Excellence Sales Club at the bronze level. She also is a certified mentor.

Flanigan led the office in sales and was named overall top producer in December. A licensed real estate professional, she joined Weichert in 1998.
