McDonald’s will hold auditions for its “Gospelfest 2005” at local McDonald’s restaurants throughout the tristate area. There will be auditions for soloists, poets, rappers, comedians, and singing groups of two to eight people.
A separate audition for praise dancers, steppers, and choirs of nine or more people was held Jan. 29 at Madison Square Garden Expo Center in New York City, but applicants can still enter by sending a three-minute video or audio audition tape to McDonald’s Gospelfest 2005, 50 Park Place, Suite 1219, Newark 07102 by Feb. 26.
In New Jersey, auditions for soloists, poets, rappers, comedians, and singing groups of two to eight people will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 19 at the McDonald’s restaurant in Long Branch, 229 Broadway. Those who are unable to attend can submit a three-minute video or audio tape to the Newark address noted above by Feb. 26. Semifinalists will compete at The Theatre at Madison Square Garden June 3-5.
