John William Sommers
Mr. Sommers, 77, of Marlboro, formerly of Sayreville and South Amboy, died Feb. 7 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. A daughter, Barbara Toomey, died in 2001. Surviving are his wife, Helen Urban Sommers; a son, John Jr. of South Amboy; two brothers, Edwin of the Toms River section of Dover and Albert of Newton; a son-in-law, Billy Toomey of Sayreville; two granddaughters, Bernadette Donato and Tracey Sommers; and a former daughter-in-law, Louise Sommers of Toms River. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Entombment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
Donna Hauser
Ms. Hauser, 44, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died Feb. 4 at home. She was employed by Quality Foods, Morgan section of Sayreville. Her father, James Hauser, died in 1995. Surviving are a son, Christopher Hauser of Parlin; her mother, Barbara Hauser, also of Parlin; two brothers, Joseph Hauser of the Morganville section of Marlboro and James Hauser of the Toms River section of Dover; a sister, Rhoda Hauser of Pennsylvania; and six nephews and two nieces. A Mass was offered at St. Bernadette’s Church, Parlin section of Old Bridge. Interment was in Old Tennent Church, Tennent section of Manalapan.
Mary Mavros George
Mrs. George, 80, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died Feb. 7 at home. She was predeceased by her husband, George C. George. Surviving are two sons, Constantine of Germany and William George of Staten Island, N.Y; two daughters, Efthalia DeGroot of Virginia and Betty Clarke of Parlin; a sister, Sophie Kastanis of Staten Island; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Services were held at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin section of Sayreville. Interment was in Cypress Hills Cemetery, Brooklyn, N.Y.
James Richard Growney
Mr. Growney, 72, of Sayreville, died Feb. 7 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Prior to his retirement in 1989, he was a facilities engineer with Engelhard Industries, Iselin section of Woodbridge, where he worked for 38 years. Surviving are a sister, Joan G. Becker of Glen Ridge; a nephew, Michael T. Mullins; a niece, Barbara A. Nowacki; and three great-nephews. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville.
Gladys Holthausen
Ms. Holthausen, 85, of Sayreville, died Feb. 7 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are a brother, Rudy Holthausen of Sayreville; two nephews, Thomas Holthausen of Sayreville and Daniel Palmer of Massachusetts; a niece, Susan Maxein of the Brick Town section of Brick; and four great-nieces and three great-nephews. Services were held at Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Interment was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.
Anna Conte Bruno
Mrs. Bruno, 63, of Old Bridge, died Feb. 12 in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Surviving are her husband, Fred Bruno; a son, Fred Bruno Jr. of Old Bridge; two brothers, John Conte of Las Vegas, Nev., and Frank Conte of New York City; a sister, Lucy Conte of Old Bridge; and two nieces. A Mass is planned for 11 a.m. on Feb. 11 at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
Anthony S. Musica
Mr. Musica, 83, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died Feb. 5 in Atlantic Coast Rehabilitation Center, Lakewood. He was a self-employed artist and inventor. His wife, Ann Musica, died in 1995. Surviving are two sons, Paul Musica of Philadelphia and Anthony S. Musica Jr. of Plainsboro; two daughters, Deborah Ewetushek of the Toms River section of Dover and Carolyn Ann Musica of Jefferson, Maine; a sister, Sue Krichman of Florida; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services were under the direction of Sayreville Memorial Home.
Warren B. Reinhardt
Mr. Reinhardt, 62, of South River, died Feb. 6 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. A son, Warren Reinhardt, died in 1961. Surviving are his wife, Kathryn Cieslarczyk Reinhardt; a son, Scott Reinhardt of Red Bank; six daughters, Heidi Marron of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, Sherri Brindley of Red Bank, and Leah, Tara, Anna and Sara Reinhardt of South River; a brother, Kenneth Reinhardt of Newark, Del.; and five grandsons. A Mass was offered at Corpus Christi Church, South River. Interment was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. Mrs. Pacyna, 55, of Spotswood, formerly of Old Bridge, died Feb. 8 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was the proprietor of Debbie’s Dazzlers Nail Salon, Marlboro. Surviving are her husband, Thomas, and a stepbrother, Jason Witte of Bayville. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Cremation was private. Ruth Margaret Irvine Monahan
Mrs. Monahan, 74, of Monroe, died Feb. 10 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Her husband, James J. Monahan Sr., died in 1992. Surviving are four children, Patricia Giacalone of Staten Island, N.Y., Doreen Monahan of Denville, James J. Monahan Jr. of Spotswood and William B. Monahan of North Carolina; three sisters, Dolores, Evelyn and Elizabeth; and six grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Eckman Funeral Home, Spotswood. Interment was in Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township.
John F. Marcinczyk
Mr. Marcinczyk, 88, of Sayreville, died Feb. 6 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a heavy equipment operator with National Lead Industries, Sayreville, where he worked for 40 years. His wife, Jean Dawson Marcinczyk, died in 1975, and a son, Raymond Marcinczyk, died in 1960. Surviving are a son, John H. Marcinczyk; two sisters, Helen Reed of the Parlin section of Sayreville and Catherine DeStefano of East Brunswick; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sayreville. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Jose J. Geada
Mr. Geada, 85, of Spotswood, died Feb. 12 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Isabel Perez Geada; two sons, Gil Geada of Old Bridge and David Geada of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Cristina Charleston of Monroe; a sister, Consuelo Isla of Venezuela; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Fleming, 73, of South River, died Feb. 8 at home. Surviving are her husband, Robert Fleming; a son, William James Fleming of Oceanside, Calif.; a daughter, Lee Ann Fleming-Semaan of Tustin, Calif.; a brother, Edward Wascavage of Old Bridge; a sister, Violet Copozzi of the Forked River section of Lacey; and three grandchildren. Gladys A. Fixmer
Mrs. Fixmer, 88, of East Brunswick, died Feb. 12 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She taught crafts at the East Brunswick Senior Center for 13 years. Prior to her retirement in 1968, she was a hairdresser for many years at various shops in New Jersey and New York. Surviving is a daughter, Jo-Ann Janus of the Somerset section of Franklin. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in cloverleaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
Robert J. Pietruszewski
Mr. Pietruszewski, 78, of East Brunswick, died Feb. 2 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 1986, he was employed for 39 years as an analyst with Ford Motor Co. Inc., Edison. Surviving are his wife, Estelle Federowicz Pietruszewski; two sons, Robert Pietruszewski of East Brunswick and Gary Pietruszewski of Clarkson, Mich.; a sister, Marian Slavic of Hopelawn; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Ms. Jastrebski, 87, of Sayreville, formerly of South River, died Feb. 1 in Summerhill Care Center, Old Bridge. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a seamstress through the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She was predeceased by three brothers, Walter, Joseph and Edward, and by two sisters, Helen Safaryn and Sophie Leonowicz. Surviving are two brothers, Stanley Jastrebski of Maryland and Frank Jansky of Perth Amboy; and many nieces and nephews.
