As I headed to work this week, I saw the Brick Township Police Department in action doing what they do best, namely helping a citizen in need. It wasn’t a burning building or a horrible car accident, but simply helping a citizen get to the hospital to get much-needed medical treatment. I wanted to take an opportunity to let the police in our town know that we, the residents, are thankful for their hard work and dedication.
Our police force has responded to its fair share of “city like” problems that confront our community. From chasing down bank robbers in high-speed pursuits across town, helping to capture fugitives from the law, to handling traffic issues caused by accidents and weather hazards, the officers have shown their training and professionalism.
The next time you have the opportunity to see our officers in action, take a moment and wonder who you would call if we didn’t have these resources in Brick.
Then take time to say thanks to that officer who is putting his or her life on the line to help protect yours.
I’m sure that this small thank you will go a long way and help our finest do their jobs and return safely to their families.
