Philip Rubinstein

Mr. Rubinstein, 84, of Covered Bridge, Manalapan, died Feb. 15 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Poland, he emigrated to the United States in 1929 and grew up in Manhattan, N.Y. He had lived in Edison for 20 years and in East Brunswick for five years before moving to Covered Bridge six years ago. Prior to retiring in 1981, Mr. Rubinstein owned R&S Shoes Inc., Avenel, for 20 years. A member of Knights of Pythias, Rahway, he enjoyed taking pictures and making home movies. He was predeceased in 1973 by a brother, Hyman. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Esther; three daughters and a son-in-law, Marsha Levine of Edison, Susan Rubinstein of Red Bank and Sandra and Ken Conti of Lyndhurst; a brother, Morris Rubinstein; three sisters, Bella Wolf, Molly Lockspeiser and Frances Epstein, all of Florida; and four grandchildren, Randi, Jaclyn, Simon and Michael. Services were held at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick 08902; or the Myelodysplastic Syndrome Foundation, 36 Front St., Crosswicks 08515.

Dawn Yuill

Ms. Yuill, 38, of Piscataway, died Feb. 15 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in New Brunswick, she had resided in Piscataway for nine years. She was predeceased by her parents, Patricia Johnson and David Yuill. Surviving are a sister, Autumn Johnson of North Plainfield; three brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Karen Yuill of Edison, Daniel and Kristin Yuill of Piscataway, and James and Kim Johnson of Phillipsburg; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick, followed by burial at the Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.

Stephen Olivacz

Mr. Olivacz, 80, of Sayreville, died Jan. 22 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Chuma Olivacz; three daughters, Barbara and Diane of Sayreville and Joyce of Pen Argyl, Pa.; two brothers, Robert of Hazlet and John of Westminster, Colo.; a sister, Ann White of Woodbridge; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Perth Amboy. Interment was in the church cemetery

.Philip Silverstein

Mr. Silverstein, 59, of Manalapan, died Feb. 9 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he had lived in Manalapan for 32 years, and since 1989 had also maintained a residence in the Poconos. An animal lover, he owned horses throughout his lifetime and enjoyed playing paddleball. Surviving are his wife, Sandy Silverstein; two daughters, Karen Mulè of Manalapan and Debbie Silverstein of Rutherford; his mother, Rebecca Silverstein of Brooklyn; a sister, Suzette Bailin of Brooklyn; and four grandchildren, Hayley, Bianca, Olivia and Frankie. Services were held at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan.
