Buhler & Bitter Inc. Jeep, Hazlet, is seeking nominee for its “Jeep Heroes Nomination Program,” with winners to be selected Nov. 10, prior to Veterans Day. The program rewards military, police, fire and emergency medical services (EMS) personnel that deliver exemplary, unique and heroic service to improve the quality of life in cities and towns across America. Nominations are being sought online at www.jeep.com/nominate, and each month new Jeep Heroes will be recognized on the corporate Web site and entered for a chance to win one of four new Jeep Grand Cherokees. Twelve heroes will be chosen nationwide, with three in each category — military, police, fire and EMS. Nominees must be age 18 or older, and must be current employees or volunteers of the police, fire or emergency medical service departments or active members of the U.S. Military. Nominators need to provide an essay of 200 words or less on why a nominee deserves to be honored.

Jean Moelius, Cliffwood Beach section of Aberdeen, was recently named assistant manager at Penn Federal Savings Bank’s new branch at Shop Rite, Lloyd Road Plaza, Aberdeen. The grand opening will be Feb. 26 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. (snow date is March 6.

Mitchell Sanborn Gallery, 46 W. Front St., Keyport, is now exhibiting “Colors,” works by New York and New Jersey artists, through April 2. Also on view at the gallery are photographs of New York in the 1930s and ’40s by Therese Mitchell, and paintings by New York Outsider artist Claude Owne. Dearborn Farms, Holmdel, has announced the hiring of Suzanne Bontempo as the manager of its new garden center. Prior to joining Dearborn, she was employed at the Plant Outlet, Red Bank. Dearborn’s 11,000-square-foot greenhouse will open next fall.

Penn Federal Savings Bank, Aberdeen, has announced the hiring of Dianne C. Jones as its new community development officer. Jones was hired to help customers learn more about and take advantage of CRA (Community Reinvestment Act) opportunities. CRA programs allow individuals with salaries less than the local median to take advantage of lower-rate mortgages. Jones will be responsible for helping low- and moderate-income families find affordable loans and will work with first-time home buyers and individuals who want to refinance to lower rates.

The Community YMCA has announced the appointment of Kristen Weber, Brick, as executive director of the Red Bank Branch at 166 Maple Ave. Weber has been with the Y several years, and began at its Family Services Branch as an in-home case worker. She moved to the Red Bank Branch in 2000 as the associate sports director, and advanced to senior program director responsible for overseeing sports, fitness, youth, teen and aquatics programs as well as managing the Hazlet Swim and Tennis Club. As executive director, she will be is responsible for facility management, membership, community networking, staffing and providing quality programs. Weber received a bachelor of science degree in social work at Salve Regina University, Newport, R.I.
