Schoor DePalma, a Manalapan-based engineering and consulting firm, announced that it has hired Susan C. Phillips, P.E., A.I.C.P., as a senior project manager in the Traffic Planning Division.
Phillips, who has more than 20 years of transportation engineering experience, is knowledgeable in the planning, design and coordination efforts required for major transportation projects. In her new position at Schoor DePalma, she will be responsible for client satisfaction, ensuring on-time and on-budget projects as well as the expansion and enhancement of Schoor DePalma’s traffic planning services from the firm’s Kulpsville, Pa., office.
Prior to working at Schoor DePalma, Phillips held the position of director of traffic services for Langan Engineering and Environmental Services of Philadelphia. Her professional and community involvement in the greater Philadelphia region includes: member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE); member of the American Society of Civil Engineers(ASCE); former board of directors for the Delaware Valley Region American Public Works Association (APWA); and is a member of the American Planners Association (APA). She attended the University of Delaware and received her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
Barry Blackman of Jackson has developed a directory of the Route 9 corridor from Old Bridge to Lakewood.
“Where on 9” lists more than 2,000 businesses and 200 malls through six townships along a 30-mile segment of Route 9. The booklet is a combination of listings, maps, ads and coupons, with the maps showing access roads, U-turns, malls and store locations.
Blackman, a digital photo-illustrator and designer, has spent three years planning and designing the directory, and plans to update the booklet every six months to keep it current.
“Where on 9” is a free booklet and will be available in stores and restaurants along Route 9 beginning early April.
CentraState Healthcare System, Freehold Township, recently celebrated the fifth anniversary of Monmouth Crossing, its assisted living residence. The community combines homelike apartment living and supportive services with the availability of personal care 24 hours a day.
Monmouth Crossing has been awarded the Assisted Living Best Practice Award from the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services for the second year in a row. The facility was recognized specifically for its ongoing in-service education program. The community was also recognized in 2003 for its falls prevention program, “Falls Assessment, Prevention and Intervention.”
In addition, for the past three years Monmouth Crossing has received perfect scores in annual surveys by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. The assisted living community also rates high in resident satisfaction scores.
