Jamesburg and Monroe voters to decide the fate of the district spending plans on Tuesday.

Voters in Jamesburg and Monroe will have their say Tuesday on this year’s proposed school budgets and school board candidates.
In Monroe, incumbents Joe Homoki, Kathy Kolupanowich and Kathy Leonard are running unopposed for three, three-year seats.
In Jamesburg, incumbents Don Peterson and Frank Tarulli are seeking two of three, three-year terms. Incumbent Frank Hand is not seeking re-election.
With no declared candidates for the third seat, whoever gets the most write-in votes will win. If there are no write-in votes, the board has 60 days to appoint a resident to fill the seat.
Parent Karen Zimmerman has announced that she will be running as a write-in candidate.
Voters in Monroe will be asked to support a $69.9 million budget. If approved, school taxes will increase by 2.96 percent, raising the tax rate 5.14 cents to $1.785 per $100 of assessed valuation. If approved, the owner of a house assessed at the township average of $153,900 can expect to pay $2,747.73 in school taxes, an increase of $78.73.
In Jamesburg, voters will be asked to support a $10.92 million budget. School taxes would increase 3.8 percent, raising the tax rate 10.65 cents to $2.76 per $100 of assessed valuation. If approved, the owner of a house assessed at the borough average of $123,319 would pay $3,403 in school taxes, an increase of $136.
The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Monroe and from 3 to 9 p.m. in Jamesburg.
Jamesburg voters can vote at the Borough Hall on Perrineville Road.

Ward 1, Districts 6, 7, 8, 9, 10: Clearbrook Cultural Center, Ardmore and Halsey Roads;
Ward 1, District 13: The Ponds Clubhouse, Waterside Boulevard;
Ward 2, District 1; Ward 3, Districts 4, 9: Woodland School, Harrison Avenue;
Ward 2, District 2; Ward 3, Districts 6, 8: Brookside School, Buckelew Avenue;
Ward 2, Districts 3, 9, 11, 12: Whittingham Town Center, Whittingham Drive;
Ward 2, District 4: Monroe Township Library, Municipal Plaza;
Ward 2, Districts 5, 6, 7, 8: Concordia, Clubhouse Drive;
Ward 2, District 10: Applegarth Firehouse, Applegarth Road;
Ward 3, District 1, 3: Monroe First Aid Building, Monmouth Road;
