Amper, Politziner & Mattia, with assistance from 11-year-old Jon Risk and his sixth-grade classmates at Green Hills School in Green Township, Sussex County, donated $7,150 for tsunami relief. The contribution was given to Asha for Education, whose tsunami relief efforts focus primarily on children’s causes. Jon, who is the son of Amper employee Robert Risk, the firm’s director of information technology, initiated the collection among his classmates, who contributed portions of their lunch money, savings and allowances for a total of $125, which Jon’s parents matched and added to the company’s donation.

New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants announced that its Disaster Recovery Guide is now available free of charge. The updated guide provides free financial and tax advice to crisis victims, and includes information on topics such as how to document losses and replace personal identification papers.
