Denise P. Hance

Mrs. Hance, 43, of Baton Rouge, La., died May 7 at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center, Baton Rouge, following a battle with breast cancer and leukemia. Born in New York City, she resided in Staten Island, N.Y., and Middletown for 20 years, prior to moving to Baton Rouge 12 years ago. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, John R. Hance; two daughters, Gabriella and Alexandra Hance of Baton Rouge; a son, Paul Hance of Baton Rouge; her parents, Sybil and Ray Fiegel of Tinton Falls; a sister and brother-in-law, Doreen and Ed Husar of Tinton Falls; a brother, Daniel Fiegel of New York City; and three nieces. Visitation will be May 12 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral gathering will be May 13 at 9:45 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m., both at the funeral home. Burial will be at Bay View Cemetery, Leonardo section of Middletown.

Olga Bilowis

Mrs. Bilowis, 98, of Eatontown, died May 7 at Gateway Care Center, Eatontown. Born in Austria, she was a lifelong resident of Eatontown. She is survived by a sister, Ann Aragalas. Burial was at White Ridge Cemetery, Eatontown. Arrangements were by Braun Funeral Home, Eatontown.

Peter W. Potter

Mr. Potter, 51, of the West Keansburg section of Hazlet, died April 3. Born in Scotland, he resided in Middletown prior to moving to West Keansburg two years ago. He was a self-employed painter in the Middletown area. He enjoyed acting at The First Avenue Playhouse, Atlantic Highlands, as well as Hawaii. He was predeceased by his father, John Potter. He is survived by a son and daughter, Anthony Potter and Ashley Potter, both Middletown; his mother, Jean Potter of Fair Haven; a sister, Linda Bouchard of Wilmington, Del.; one nephew; and an aunt. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.

Lissette M. Corbet Whitman

Mrs. Whitman, 86, of Shadow Lake Village, Middletown, died April 29 at Englewood (Fla.) Hospital. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided in Middletown most of her life. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Gold Star Wives of America. She was predeceased by her first husband, Arnold S. Lisk, killed during World War II, her second husband, Max A. Whitman in 1969; and a brother, Neil Corbet. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Judith Whitman of Rumson; a daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and Robert Mackenzie of Englewood, Fla.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.

Constance S. Smith McNally

Mrs. McNally, 89, of Red Bank, died May 3 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Lansdowne, Pa., she had resided in Rumson for 30 years before moving to Red Bank. Mrs. McNally was a homemaker. She was active in Planned Parenthood of Central New Jersey and the Shrewsbury Historical Society, as well as the Friends of Monmouth Beach Cultural Center. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald McNally Sr., in 2000. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Harry C. Jones Jr. and Marie Castonguay Jones of Houston; three stepsons, Gerald McNally Jr. of Los Angeles, Geoffrey L. McNally of New York City, and Charles G. McNally, and his wife, Michele, of Scarsdale, N.Y.; and four step-grandchildren. The John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, was in charge of arrangements.

Marjorie Rose Taft Hansen

Mrs. Hansen, 80, of Red Bank, died March 8 at Kensington Manor Nursing Home, Toms River. Born in Kearny, she resided in Red Bank 45 years. She was a telephone operator at NJ Bell for 17 years, retiring in 1974. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Harold Hansen in January; and a brother, George Taft. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda and Joseph Garvey of Toms River, Deborah Ferrogine of Tinton Falls, and Kristen and Michael Collat of Misawa Air Force Base, Japan; a sister, Elizabeth A. Sheridan of Keyport; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.
