Collages by Renna Abadi at guild

“Beautiful Dreamer” “Beautiful Dreamer” SHREWSBURY — “Up Close and Personal,” a show of collages by Renna Abadi, will be on exhibit at The Guild of Creative Art in Shrewsbury throughout the month of July. About her art, Abadi says “the juxtaposition of a recognizable image against a surreal or abstract one has always fascinated me. My inspiration comes from art sources, as well as from memories of places I’ve seen, read about, or imagined. For me, a love of color and form — in relation to the composition of a picture is an integral part of my art.”

A resident of Elberon, Abadi has exhibited at the National Museum of Sports at Madison Square Garden, the New York National Arts Club, Union Carbide, Pace University, Lincoln Center, Lever House, the Allied Arts Guild, and the Art Students League in New York.

“Around Flowers” “Around Flowers” A former member in the New York Society of Women Artists and the New York Society of Contemporary Artists, she has pledged to donate a portion of the revenue from sold artwork to Parkinson’s disease research.

Concurrently with Abadi’s images, the work of members who were recently juried to become exhibiting artists or associate artists of the guild will be on exhibit.

“Meditation” “Meditation” A reception, to which the public is invited, will be held on Sunday, July 10, from 3-6 p.m.
