Erin E. Beebe of Edison graduated May 7 from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of arts degree in speech communication.

Rachit Patel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hitesh Patel of Edison, was named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Washington University in St. Louis, where he is enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences.

Evangeline Gumbs of the Iselin section of Woodbridge is among New Jersey’s 15 recipients of the 2005 Commissioner’s Distinguished Teacher Candidate Award from the state Department of Education. Having earned close to a 3.85 grade point average, Gumbs graduated cum laude in May 2003 from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in Pomona with a bachelor of arts degree in literature and teacher education, and a minor in writing and both women’s and African-American studies. She is currently a substitute teacher in Monmouth County.

Karen E. Belz of Woodbridge was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Millersville University of Pennsylvania, Millersville, Pa. She earned a grade point average between 3.5 and 4.0.

Jaclyn M. Bobel of the Iselin section of Woodbridge graduated May 7 from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of science in education degree in elementary education and a concentration in English.

Danielle M. Tursi of the Iselin section of Woodbridge graduated cum laude on May 7 from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of science in education degree in elementary education and a concentration in reading.
