The Frog Hollow Swim & Tennis Club’s swim team is looking to finish strong as it enters the second half of the season.

Coach Georgann Tice’s South Amboy-based team is 1-3 competing in the New Jersey Swimming and Diving Conference’s B League. Frog Hollow scored its lone victory over Knob Valley, but the team lost close meets to both Middlesex and Round Top, and Tice is hoping her team can reverse those decisions in upcoming rematches.

“Our swimmers have worked very, very hard,” Tice said. “They’re in the pool every day, and I’m happy with their progress. We really stress technique, and our goal is to improve everyone’s time. At the same time, I want them to have a lot of fun and I like it when they get out of the pool smiling.”

Frog Hollow’s top competitors include: (8U) Pat Astarita, Tara Lenahan and Haley Tomaszewski; (9-10) Tara Inman and Matt Zebrowski; (11-12) Stephen Deleo, Skyler Lutz, Maureen McKenna and Luke McNally; (13-14) Rachael Abadie, Brianne Behr, Myra Dabkowski, Robbie and Ross Masterson, Shannon McKenna and Jess Stone; and (15-18) Ryan Behr, Bobby Besner and Katie Tice. Kim Bukowski and Katie Tice serve as assistant coaches.

Tice’s team includes about 50 swimmers, many of whom have siblings on the squad.

“This is a very family-oriented atmosphere, and the kids encourage each other,” Tice said. “The camaraderie is great to see.”
