Michael Cohen of Howell graduated on May 13 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), Blacksburg, Va. He received a bachelor of science in business degree in business information technology from the Pamplin College of Business.

Rebecca Maiorano of Howell graduated magna cum laude on May 13 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), Blacksburg, Va. She received a bachelor of science in aerospace engineering degree from the College of Engineering.

Boston University, Boston, awarded academic degrees in May to the following Howell residents: Nicholas Krutchkoff, a master in criminal justice degree; Sandra E. Minion, a bachelor of science in business degree in business administration and management; Pinar Posluk, a bachelor of science degree in communication, summa cum laude; and Vincent J. Tecchio, a bachelor of science in business degree in business administration and management.

Christine A. Cardona of Jackson graduated cum laude in May from Boston University, Boston, with a bachelor of science degree in film and television.

Demetra Rotsides of Jackson graduated magna cum laude in May from Boston University, Boston, with a bachelor of arts degree in Hispanic language and literature.

Stephanie Cobb of Howell has completed requirements for a bachelor’s degree in management from Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, Pa. Commencement ceremonies were held on May 15.

Eileen P. MacFarlane of Howell received a bachelor of science in nursing degree on May 9 from the College of Nursing at Seton Hall University, South Orange.

Kay Elizabeth Ledger of Howell received a bachelor of science in education degree on May 9 in special education (teacher of the handicapped/elementary track) from the College of Education & Human Services at Seton Hall Univer-sity, South Orange.

Johnson & Wales University, Prov-idence, R.I., awarded academic degrees in May to the following Howell residents: Sherif Fahmy, bachelor of science degree, College of Business; Shannon Smith, associate degree, Hospitality College; Eric Gonzalez, associate degree, College of Culinary Arts; Larissa Steinberg, associate degree cum laude, College of Culinary Arts; Megan Coleman, associate degree, College of Business; and Nicole Aurisano, associate degree, College of Business.

Cadet Anthony M. Costa, son of Estella and Michael Costa of Jackson, graduated on May 28 from the United States Military Academy, West Point, N.Y. While at West Point, Costa studied information systems engineering and was commissioned as a second lieutenant, as well as a branched quartermaster. He will be attending the Officer Basic Course at Fort Lee, Va., and may subsequently join an active Army unit to help fight the global war on terrorism. Costa is a 2001 graduate of Jackson Memorial High School.
