Kimball doctor honored

LAKEWOOD — Dr. William Dalsey, chairman of Emergency Medicine at Kimball Medical Center, received the Clinical Expertise Award from the New Jersey chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians (NJ-ACEP) at its recent awards ceremony.

The Clinical Expertise Award is bestowed on an NJ-ACEP member who has shown outstanding expertise in the “hands-on” clinical practice of emergency medicine.

Dalsey was recognized statewide for excellence in clinical services, according to a press release.

“I was honored to be able to deliver this award to Dr. Dalsey with all of his accomplishments as a clinical chairman in both community and academic settings,” said Jennifer Waxler, D.O., chairman of Emergency Medicine at Mon-mouth Medical Center, Long Branch, and immediate past president of the NJ-ACEP.

“He is well positioned in emergency medicine in New Jersey and we are very lucky to have him at Kimball Medical Center and within the St. Barnabas Health Care System,” Wexler said.

The NJ-ACEP awards program recognizes leadership and excellence among the members in the New Jersey chapter. The program provides an opportunity to recognize all members for their significant professional contributions as well as service to the chapter and to the college.

NJ-ACEP is a chartered chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians whose purpose is to support quality emergency medical care and to promote the interests of emergency physicians, according to the press release.

Emergency physicians are recognized and valued by the NJ-ACEP for their commitment to high quality patient care, teaching, leadership, research and innovation.

Joe Hicks, executive director of Kimball Medical Center, said Dalsey is the “emergency doctor that other doctors go to for information, advice and counsel. He is very deserving of the Clinical Expertise Award, as his proficiency is renowned among his peers.”

“Dr. Dalsey plays an important leadership role in our health care system as the chairman of Emergency Medicine and we are very proud of his latest accomplishment and well-deserved accolades,” said Dr. Anthony Lombardino, vice president of medical affairs at Kimball Medical Center.

An accomplished lecturer, and prolific author and editor, Dalsey received his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania, his master’s degree in Microbiology from Temple University Graduate School and his master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas-San Antonio. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Cincinnati, where he was chief resident.

Dalsey resides in Blue Bell, Pa., with his wife, Terry Ann Hurtt Dalsey, D.M.D., and their three daughters.
