A press release issued by the Sayreville Democratic Organization last week credited the Borough Council’s three Democrats with advocating for tax relief in the budget and accomplishing that goal by amending the budget Aug. 8. An Aug. 11 editorial in the Suburban incorrectly stated that the press release omitted the fact that Republican Frank Makransky also approved the tax cut. In fact, the release does go on to state that Makransky “joined with the Democrats in supporting Councilman Grobelny’s efforts.”
